7 Days of Awesome Sandwiches

Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

I'm diving into sandwiches today.  Belgians eat a lot of sandwiches.  For the most part, lousy sandwiches. Despite the fantastic butcher shops full of delicious meats and salads.  It boggles the mind.  The Cherry is here to remedy that and indulge our audience with the most delectable samiches on the planet.  If you know of a better one, then hit us up with the link, Man!

Mexican Chorizo, Garlic Shrimp Burger:

Warning!  THIS is a serious sandwich and quite possibly, the most beautiful food blog I have ever seen.  This sandwich is edible art and it won't be made in less than 10 minutes, but it will be worth the work.  Consider this recipe as the ultimate gift for your favourite sandwich lover.  It will be an excellent demonstration of your love for that particular recipient.  Give me a call, when it's ready!  You're drooling...

Baked Egg Boats:

This recipe is a lot easier and with everyday ingredients that you may already have at home.  Keep your bread in mind.  Make sure it's fresh if your looking for the healthiest manner to eat bread.

Roasted Garlic Steak Sandwich:

Here's another fabulous sandwich recipe.  There are some store bought sauces which will save you time and there is a marinade, too.  Keep that in mind if time is not on your side.

Big Kahuna Chicken Teriyaki Sandwich:

Another awesome samich recipe.  This one has a marinade so keep that in mind if your short on time.  It also suggest a lot of sugar for the  marinade.  The pineapple should add a sufficient and surely healthy does of natural sugar.

Shrimp Po'Boy

If you ain't never had'a Po' Boy than, Honey!  Make this your first.  This recipe will whip right up.  Ya just need a little bit of time to make the sauce, but it's very easy.  Mmmm.... mmmmm....  Shrimp can be a bit pricey.  I buy frozen shrimp that I have to peel to save money.  I cut the bag open, then fill it with hot water from the tap and drain when the shrimp is thawed and peel.  It doesn't take long for the shrimp to thaw.  But he time you prepare the sauce, they will be ready.

Now, get a hold of yourself.  The next one is my own recipe and it's also whipped up in a snap.  You could cook two chicken breasts or grill them and add the wing sauce. I used left over chicken and shredded it, but you could always cook two chicken breasts in the slow cooker along with your favourite hot wings sauce.  Our's is Texas Pete.  Another alternative is to melt butter and add hot sauce until you get just the right flavour .

I made my own blue cheese dressing because there ain't none better, it's really easy, healthier and made to your taste.  You can see my sauce is nice and thick and I really heaped it on.

I toasted the wheat bread.  Half of the family prefers white and the smarter half prefers brown.  hehehe...

I definitely need to brush up on my photography skills.

Now, you're set with an awesome assemblage of fabulous sandwiches.  Some easy and some a bit labor intensive.  You choose the one best for you and your family.

Enjoy!
